Understanding SPF Terms and Numbers
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and the corresponding number associated with SPF measures the level at which it will protect from radiation that causes sunburns. The higher the number of SPF, the higher the protection against UVB rays. UVA and UVB rays from the sun negatively impact the skin’s health. Broad-spectrum sunscreens help protect from both UVA and UVB rays.
Why is Mineral Sunscreen Better?
Mineral sunscreen is good for adults and children with sensitive skin, eczema, dry skin, and other rashes or allergies. The thicker, white mineral base is made up of titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide. It creates a barrier above the skin rather than absorbing into the skin like traditional chemical sunscreens.
